Pamela L. Laskin

Breakdowns

Virginia Woolf, our worlds are so far apart I could scream, but my body might break into a million pieces if I did. Why is it, you, who had the exotic pleasures of Paris, London, words growing out of your ears, your eyes, unraveled just as easily as I am doing here, in bed, the baby screaming the words crumbling the body forsaken to a language no poem cares to embrace.

Pamela L. Laskin is working on a book of poetry based on Judy Chicago's The Dinner Party, for which she received a grant. The book explores the intersection of art and famous women, as well as goddesses. Ms. Laskin is a lecturer in the English Department at The City College, as well as Director of The Poetry Outreach Center. Two poetry books; four poetry chapbooks; two young adult novels and five of her picture books have been published.
