Johnson City, Tennessee The gown I wear tonight the sea-shade of your eyes blue-gray satin strap slips past my shoulder, back, I glide into the serenity of sailboats. Three sheets in, a tuft of Nottingham lace scratches my leg. I recall the impossibility of us your eyes the day we parted.

Marsha’s poetry has appeared in numerous publications, including Appalachian Heritage, Apalachee Quarterly, Greensboro Review, Pembroke, Kansas Quarterly, VietNow, and the online teaching anthology, In the Heydays of His Eyes: An Anthology of Poems about Being Young and Growing.
