Flash Fiction Contest Guidelines
So this time around we're doing a flash fiction contest, just to mix things up a little. The deadline is March 15, 2012 and winners will be announced in our Spring/Summer 2012 issue. Finalists will be announced in our blog.
Submit between one and three previously unpublished flash fiction pieces for a $15 reading fee. Submissions and payment are accepted online via PayPal only.
The winner will receive the $350 prize and their story will be featured in the Spring/Summer 2012 issue. Second and third place winners and three honorable mentions will be published in the same issue. The contest winner will be guaranteed a spot in our second print edition, which is planned for 2014 (our first print edition should be appearing by the end of 2012.) All non-finalist entries will be considered for publication in the Spring/Summer or Fall/Winter 2012 issues and all entrants will be notified by e-mail on the status of their entries.
Entries will be judged by the Melusine editors, with every effort given to judging them as blindly and impartially as possible. Please follow the formatting guidelines below to assist us with the blind judging of your entries.
Here's how to enter:
Send an e-mail to sub2melusine@gmail.com that includes two attached Word documents.
One is your short bio with contact information (your primary e-mail address plus either a secondary e-mail address or a phone number.)
The second document should include your flash fiction piece/s, without your name or contact information appearing on the page/s.
Click the button below to make your fee payment and list the title/s of your piece/s in the appropriate box. Contest entries submitted without fee payment will be considered non-contest submissions. You will receive e-mail notice that your contest entry and payment was received. You have 48 hours after e-mailing your entry to submit your payment by clicking below.
